Tuesday night at Bancroft Community School, thirty-five very hard working volunteers completely assembled 100 bikes in just four hours. These bikes had been donated by a group called Bikes for Kids, a local organization headed up by Bill and Debbie Pollakov. Over the years they have given thousands of bikes to local needy children. A shout out "Bless You" to the Pollakovs for their generosity and focus on children.
The picture above shows the volunteers who were left as the 100th bike was complete. A huge thanks to them and the others who attended, donated tools, and brought food. Common Ground Volunteers - you're the greatest!
A future blog will continue the story - Who got the bikes?
