| Volunteers stepped up to the plate for the Luncheon, and fit the Tea to a tee! |
The CDO sixth graders got a real treat on Friday when Common Ground volunteers prepared and presented a " Tea" for the girls and a Sports Luncheon for the boys. During their lunch time, the students were bussed over to Foothills Methodist Church where they found the Youth Center and King Hall transformed into an English Tea room and a Hall of Champions. The boys were treated to a tie-only upscale affair attended by a former NFL player, a teacher and counselor from Spring Valley Middle School, and local businessmen. The girls listened to a pianist serenade their lunch in a most sophisticated atmosphere. Overheard as the students were leaving, "Those scones were delicious."
